Going Out: Exploring the World 

The students of Montessori at Old Field have taken field trips or have gone out to the following:

  • Emma S. Clark Library

  • Long Island Science Museum

  • Long Island Museum of American Art, History, and Carriages (LIM)

  • Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium

  • Town of Brookhaven Nature Center @ Cedar Beach

  • Avalon Park

  • Local farms and apiaries

  • Other museums connected to lessons in the classrooms

 

Parent chaperones are required for all field trips for the primary class. Parents/guardians may volunteer to chaperone for the elementary class field trips. 

Not only do we bring the children outside, but we also invite persons who are experts in their fields to come and speak with the children.
